ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) Reporting

Airport Carbon Accreditation
3. Airports have long been addressing sustainability issues, from noise, air quality, biodiversity and water management to more global environmental issues – particularly the aviation industry’s greenhouse gas emissions.
On carbon emissions, ACI EUROPE (Airports Council International) was established in Europe in June 2009. The Airport Carbon Accreditation programme has become the global certification standard for the airport industry’s response to the challenges of climate change. ACI EUROPE believes in the imperative to address three sustainability dimensions – social, economic and environmental.
As part of this Sustainability Strategy, European airports committed through ACI EUROPE to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions for operations under their control latest by 2050.
Therefore, ACI EUROPE launched Airport Carbon Accreditation, to assess and recogne participating airport's efforts to manage and reduce their CO₂ emissions at global level in 2014.
Airport Carbon Accreditation is an independent, voluntary programme administered by WSP, an international consultancy appointed by ACI EUROPE to enforce the accreditation criteria for airports on an annual basis. The administration of the programme is overseen by an Advisory Board.
Airports applying to become accredited must have their carbon footprints independently verified in accordance with ISO 14064 (Greenhouse Gas Accounting).
Thereafter, its evidence has to be provided to the Programme Administrator (WSP), together with all claims regarding carbon management processes which must also be independently verified. In verification process an organisation has to acquire four levels of certifications mentioned by ACA - Mapping, Reduction, Optimisation and Neutrality.
We provide assessment of carbon footprints of airports who would like to be validated by ACI. Under this, we render advisory services for Reduction, Optimization and Neutrality stages through supply of Carbon offsets which are eligible for implementing CORSIA (Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation), which is the Globe Market Based Measure (GMBM) and devising strategy for reducing carbon intensity in Airport operations. Our ACA certified auditors manage end to end process of ACA certification.
